The American Legion was chartered by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic, war-time veterans organization, devoted to mutual helpfulness. It is a not-for-profit community-service organization which now numbers nearly 3 million members, men and women, in nearly 15,000 American Legion posts worldwide.

Since our charter in 1933, our American Legion Post has been welcoming VETERANS from all branches of our Armed Forces. Today, we continue to welcome all military personnel serving our country. Joining our Post enables you to continue serving your God, Country and Community Our mission is to implement the goals, aspirations, dreams, peace and blessings for our country, friends and families embodied in our preamble below.

To the wonderful patriotic citizens of the Bedford community. Join our Post as a Booster or sponsor. Send your tax-deductible check to American Legion, Stevens-Buswell Post 54, PO Box 10295, Bedford, NH 03110-0295. 100% of the monies raised are given back to the community. Help us to continue sponsoring Scholarships for our children; give aid and assistance to our local needy Veterans and their families. Help us to continue to support financially worthy community programs and projects.

Meeting times: First Tuesday of each month, at 7:30 p.m. 

No meetings in July or August.

TAPS -We honor our esteemed comrade Commander John (Jack) Belanger who recently passed away.  He served in the U.S. Army Reserve, retiring as a Master Sergeant after 26 years of service with the 1st Battalion/304th Regiment.  

We appreciate his service to both his country and the Town of Bedford.   Hand Salute!
